Selectmen's Minutes- January 19, 1993

Mr. Haggerty read a letter received from the Town of Halifax re mutual aid and would it be continued if they reverted to a call fire department and had a private ambulance service.  This will be discussed later in the meeting.

Budget tracking for the month of December reviewed by Mr. Frisoli.

On motion by Crowley, 2nd Murdoch, voted 5-0 a one day liquor license for Snowden at Camp Kiwanee on March 19, 1993 from 8 p.m. to midnight.  

On motion by Mr. Frisoli, 2nd Mr. Crowley, voted 4-0-1 (Andrews abstaining) to award the bid for the 1992 Town Report to Reprographics, 321 Summer Street, Boston, 02210, low bidder at $22.95 per page.

Received request from Whitman Post of the VFW for the sale of Poppies in the Town from May 5 through May 8, 1993.  Mr. Andrews moved, 2nd Crowley to grant.  5-0 vote.

Met with the Street Lighting Committee  and discussed the list submitted for the turning on of street lights in the Town.  Mr. Haggerty mentioned Andrew Lane where the crossing is to the track at the Indian Head School.  Mr. Crowley moved, 2nd Frisoli to reinstitute 100 street lights using the list of November 30, 1992 from the Committee as a basis for locations.  This action is to commence immediately.  Noted the cost is approximately $3,000.  Voted 3-1(Frisoli)-1(Andrews).

Again discussed the letter from Halifax re mutual aid.  After discussion, it was agreed to wait for the Halifax Town Meeting to see what type of plan and service they end up with after that.

Mr. Crowley moved to adjourn, 2nd Andrews.  Voted 5-0.  8:34
